Hot Days Ahead

Hot afternoons are expected Wednesday and Thursday as a large ridge sets up over the East coast.  Expect sunny skies with hazy, hot and humid weather.

High temperatures on Wednesday will range from the mid and upper 90s in central and northern Long Island, to the lower 90s on the South Shore and east end before a sea breeze kicks in, providing some relief in those regions.

Thursday will feature more of southwesterly wind, possibly inhibiting the sea breeze.  Temperatures on Thursday are likely to reach the mid and upper 90s island-wide.

During hot weather, remember to stay hydrated, especially if doing physical activity.  If possible, spend time in an air-conditioned environment.

A cold front will pass through on Friday, bringing with it some showers and thunderstorms, which have the potential to be quite strong.  The cold front will also provide relief from the hot&humid weather as we move forward into the weekend.
